With the new version WM | Quartis R2026-1
WENZEL presents a comprehensive software update that significantly supports users of coordinate measurement technology in their everyday work. Numerous new functions and optimizations improve efficiency in evaluation and programming, increase the quality of processing point clouds and extract elements, and ensure greater safety and flexibility — especially when taking measurements with a turntable.
WM | Quartis R2026-1 offers new opportunities for standard-compliant and at the same time illustrative evaluation. The rectangularity can now be evaluated using an ISO GPS-compliant orientation indicator with two references. For the first time, axial and 3D curves can also be processed and visualized as a stretched representation with a tolerance zone for graphical curve evaluation.
When programming, users benefit from variable program loops with freely definable start, end and step values. The new automatic stylus focusing also ensures that the stylus system remains centered in the graphics window at all times — even during movement of the measuring device. In addition, a new copy function for workpieces makes data maintenance easier by specifically taking over only the last measurement per workpiece.
Another focus of the release is on optical measurement technology. Curve elements can now be extracted directly from point clouds, including planar, axial, and 3D curve types. Extract elements can already be calculated during program set processing and allows a direct preview.
Improved algorithms ensure more stable cylinder extractions, correctly calculated normal directions even at high scan speeds, and significantly higher performance when working with large amounts of point clouds. At the same time, material thicknesses from the measurement plan are automatically taken into account and new measurement principles such as BK (trimming) are supported.
WM | Quartis R2026-1 significantly expands the range of applications of the turntable. Point clouds can be captured more quickly, and even highly eccentric, rotationally symmetrical elements can be measured reliably. Collision detection has been extensively expanded and now also includes fixed probes, turntable movements and individually configurable accessories. An optimized adjustment with the turntable axis also increases measurement accuracy.
For a realistic presentation, over 250 CAD models for measuring devices and numerous new accessory models are available, including new WENZEL series and turntable variants. At the same time, numerous CAD interfaces were updated and extended to ensure the connection of current CAD systems.
Additional functions such as acoustic signals for touch points in i++ DME server mode, individually adjustable PHS turning and panning speeds, the generation of CAD models by extruding 2D profiles and the automatic switch to a powerful graphics card complete the release. Also the interaction with World Cup | Gear has been further optimized and ensures smoother, faster measurement processes.
